Este Conselho, tendo sido satisfactoria a resposta que recebeu cerca do attentado praticado atrocissimo no dia 22 de Corrente, resolveu este Conselho mandar occupar por uma força portuguesa a Ponta da Vesta do berço, para conservar a ordem publicamente, quanto não terminasse satisfactoriamente o negocio.
De conformidade desta resolução, foi logo occupado o local por uma força militar; mas apenas esta ali chegou, o pequeno porto...
